MetroWest Medical Center

When building projects large in scope we find it best to build modularly.

MetroWest Medical Center is a group of progressive, forward thinking medical facilities striving to stand out among the many fine facilities here in Massachusetts.  They are cutting edge hospitals offering the latest in technologies treatments and procedures... now how do they let us know that?  This is the question they brought to us here at M2.  MWMC wanted to create a fun and educational portal to let their community know how much they truly have to offer in a unique high tech and interactive way no other hospital is doing... yet.

Phase 1 - Building the portal

We decided on a database driven architecture with content managenment tools for easy update functionality and scalability of the infrastructure.  Next we took MWMC's current look and applied it to the design with a few modernizations, keeping the site highly graphical and easy on the eyes.

Phase 2 - Filming the procedures

Let the fun begin! - We meet up bright and early with the surgeon du jour, take a little time to set up the equipment and then we watch these doctors work their magic, capturing all the details every step of the way from multiple vantage points and in High Definition.

Phase 3 - Edit and encode

Next we take all the footage, from all the angles and all the cameras and boil it down into one informative and interesting piece about 5-8 minutes in length. We add motion graphics and title screens to help guide the viewer as to what is going on at the time, all the while maintaining a PG rating so that all may enjoy the show. Last we cut in the interview footage with the doctors and its off to interactive.

Phase 4 - Program interactive components

This last step is important, this is where we program the bonus footage, additional interview pieces with the surgeon in which they share some additional insight on whats going on at that moment in the procedure and why its important. These video pieces become available during the course of the video at the users request!
