| A.C.A.M. - Maya Midwifery |
This is a product we are especially proud of not because it posed any particular technical challenges, but because it is our way of helping to make a difference. We worked closely with the board of the A.C.A.M. project, and the Maya midwives and volunteers to ensure we created an Internet presence the midwives themselves can be proud of, understand, and use to their community benefit.
Phase 1 - Collecting the materialsThe photographs and videos you will see throughout this site are very unique and took quite some time to gather. All materials were gathered in Guatemala on-site with the Maya people. Of course the US volunteers and subject-mater experts are visiting the site regularly, so we can all be on the lookout for updated images and continued stories of success.
Phase 2 - Building the site
We built this site feature rich, able to accept donations for the ACAM projects. Authorized users can sign in and write about their experiences in a weblog (blog) style. And with the new auto-generating html-based, graphical newsletter engine both the supporters and the local people can tell their stories and needs to the whole world.
This site is live! New updates are coming soon upon the return of our partners from Guatemala! |
